An encounter, not just an event

Four days. One mission. Hundreds of young Australians.

Chosen is a four-day Catholic conference for young Australians who are open to encountering God in a real and personal way.

Hosted by Jesus Youth Australia, the conference brings together teens (16+), young adults and young couples from across the country. Over four days you'll experience worship, talks, prayer, Mass, Adoration, workshops and rallies, but the highlight is the community.

There's something about being in a room full of young people from every corner of Australia, all searching for the same thing. Chosen is the space for that encounter to happen.

God is calling young people today.

God is calling you, intimately, by name.

BERadiant.

Speaking at Chosen 2026

Among our speakers: Dr. Mark Nimo.

Director of Faith Formation in Chicago, originally from Ghana. Through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal he has ministered in over forty countries — on every continent — and now he brings that fire to Australia.

Psalm 34:5

Be Radiant

"Look to Him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed."

This is the invitation of Chosen 2026: to look to Him, and let everything else fall into place. When you turn your face to Christ, you don't dim. You shine.

Stand with Chosen

For someone, the ticket is the wall.

You've just seen what it costs to come. What you didn't see is what it actually costs to run — every ticket is already heavily subsidised, made possible only through the generosity of donors and supporters. For hundreds of young Australians, even that subsidised price is the reason they're still on the fence — or not coming at all.

Why Chosen now

The Church is building toward something, and you're part of it.

For those who know Chosen Conference, this isn't the first time it's happened. So why now?

Chosen last ran in 2019. Then COVID hit, and like so much else, it paused. But now it's back, and the timing matters.

The Church is building toward something significant. World Youth Day arrives in Korea in 2027. The 54th International Eucharistic Congress comes to Sydney in 2028, a major global Catholic gathering focused on the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. And in 2033, we mark the 2000th anniversary of the Redemption of Jesus Christ.

These aren't just calendar events. They're a moment the Church is preparing for, and young people are at the heart of that preparation.

We believe this generation of young Australians has a real role to play in all of it. But that starts here, now, with young people who are rooted in Jesus, who know who they are, who they belong to, and what they're called to.

Chosen is part of that preparation.

About Jesus Youth

A global movement of young missionary disciples.

Jesus Youth is an international not-for-profit Catholic movement dedicated to evangelising young people and forming them as missionary disciples. What began as a small gathering of young people in the 1980s has grown into a global movement active in more than 40 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America and Oceania.

In May 2016, Jesus Youth was officially recognised by the Vatican (Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life) as an International Private Association of the Faithful with juridical personality, affirming its mission within the life of the Catholic Church.

Jesus Youth Australia began in 2004, when a small number of members migrated here and started forming prayer communities. Today, active groups exist all across Australia, creating spaces, through retreats, conferences, prayer gatherings and outreach, where young people can encounter Christ, build authentic friendships, and grow as leaders in the Church and society.

FAQs

Got questions? Same.

What is Chosen?
Chosen is a national Catholic youth conference run by Jesus Youth Australia. Four days of rallies, workshops, Mass, Adoration, live music and community, held at La Trobe University, Bundoora, 19–22 November 2026.
Who is it for?
Anyone aged 16–35 as at 19 November 2026. High schoolers, uni students, young professionals, and young couples (married up to 5 years). Parents are welcome too. If you're somewhere on the journey of faith and open to more, it's for you.
Do I need to be a strong Catholic to come?
Not at all. Chosen welcomes everyone, whether you're deep in your faith, somewhere in between, or just curious. There's no pressure. A lot of people who come say it was the thing that sparked something new in them.
Where is it held?
La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus, Melbourne.
What's the format?
It's a day conference — you travel in each morning and leave each evening. Each day follows the same essential rhythm: Morning Rally, Workshops (Teens · Young Adults · Young Couples), Holy Mass, Lunch, Impact Session, Dynamic, Streams (Teens · Young Adults · Young Couples), Dinner, and an Evening Rally. The programme is subject to change as speakers and sessions are confirmed.
How do I get to Melbourne?
Travel is arranged independently. A lot of groups coordinate flights or road trips together, we'd encourage that.
Is accommodation included?
Accommodation isn't included, so you'll need to organise that separately. Your registration covers conference access, lunch and dinner each day, and all conference materials. We recommend booking early, especially if you're travelling interstate.
Is the event child-safe?
Absolutely. All JY Australia staff and volunteers hold a valid Working With Children Check, and trained welfare officers are on-site throughout the event. Every adult attendee plays a role in keeping our young people safe, and any concerns should be reported to our welfare team immediately.
Will Jesus Youth Australia be taking photos or videos at the event?
Yes. By registering, you consent to being photographed or filmed at the conference. This footage may be used for marketing and other purposes. If you have any concerns, reach out to us at info@chosenconference.org.au before the event.
How much does it cost?
Early bird (until 30 June 2026): Victoria, $320. NSW, ACT, QLD, SA, $280. WA, TAS, NT, $220. Prices step up by $40 across the board from 1 July. All meals are included.
Why are prices different by state?
The further you're travelling, the more you're already spending to get here. The tiered pricing is our way of making sure distance isn't a reason to stay home.
Is there a group discount?
Yes, groups of 10 or more from the same state get 5% off. Group registrations open once Early Bird closes at the end of June (30 June 2026).
How does under-18 registration work?
Under-18s must register through a group leader who registers on their behalf. Get in touch at info@chosenconference.org.au for more info.
What about children under 5?
Kids under 5 come free, but they still need to be registered alongside a registered adult. Pop them on the form when you sign up.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. We genuinely don't want cost to be the reason you couldn't have an encounter with Christ at Chosen. Reach out to info@chosenconference.org.au and we'll work something out.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel your registration, get in touch with us at info@chosenconference.org.au and we'll work through it with you. For full details, refer to our Terms and Conditions.
What if the conference is cancelled or rescheduled?
In the unlikely event we need to cancel or reschedule, we'll be in touch as soon as possible with your options. For full details on what this means for your registration, refer to our Terms and Conditions.
What's the early registration raffle?
Every week you're registered and paid before November earns you a raffle ticket. The earlier you lock in your spot and complete payment, the more chances you have. Important: you must have completed payment to be eligible — registration without payment does not enter you into the draw. Prizes include full rego covered, rego halved, and 50% off merch. Nine winners total.
I'm clergy, can I attend?
Yes, please come. Drop us a line at info@chosenconference.org.au and we'll be in touch. More details soon.
Still have a question?
Send it through to info@chosenconference.org.au and we'll get back to you.
